Anniversary Update with v0.1!
hi everybody, thanks for being so patient!
work on v0.1 has been pretty slow for various real-life reasons, but since tuesday was the first anniversary of publishing the v0.0.1 demo, i really wanted to have something out this week. as a result, while a lot of systems have had a lot of work put into them, they're not all ready to be shown off just yet and this new demo is a little smaller and less polished than the previous one was (or that the next one will be!)
general changelog for 0.1:
- new light theme is available, but due to how much trouble themes are giving me, it's only partially implemented at the moment - you can select it in the options menu but not all menus/interfaces will change to match just yet
- the game now supports a french translation, currently only for the ui but soon for the rest of the game as well :)
- map system refactor is finished, which was a really big endeavor, but everything works way better thanks to it and it means the system supports having more than one area for you to visit in the future
- speaking of maps, almost all tiles have been improved or reworked/redrawn, and new ones have been added
- journal menu has been reworked and is a lot cleaner and less crowded now
- npcs can (and will) walk around now
- general savefile structure has been coded, but saves themselves aren't implemented yet
- the general game loop has been fleshed out (and the tutorials for it are partially written) but the implementation isn't finished yet
- some of the new prologue content is written, covering the very start of the first day
- new assets in the character creation
- several bug fixes including with marking transparency, dialogue box glitches, and menu glitches
of note: due to some systems being unfinished in v0.1, most of the menus have not been edited since v0.0.7 even in cases where this leads to nonsense - the equipment and item menus are completely disconnected from the narrative, for one. there's also less dialogue since all the previous dialogue was placeholder. if you'd still like to see it for whatever reason, the executables for v0.0.7 are still available for download on the main page.
with that, progress on v0.1.1 is already ongoing and hopefully real life will stay calm long enough for me to make good headway on it and release it before we know it! thank you all again for your interest! <3

thank you! development never really stopped, it just went really slow because i'd barely have a couple hours a week to work on it sometimes :'(
