Making this into its own post so it doesn't clutter up the main page! I'll be updating this as things pop up.
Known issues/glitches as of 0.1.0
- elves don't always turn to look at you :(
- the font preview is gone from the options menu - this was to prevent a worse glitch, will try to fix for 0.1.1 (changing the font still works ingame you just cant preview it)
- clicking on an unreachable spot will cause the player character to walk in-place in hopes of reaching it someday (noticeable mainly with tents)
Troubleshooting
- The OSX version doesn't work:
- unfortunately i don't have access to any computers with OSX at the moment so i have nothing to test it on... if it doesn't work please let me know so i can take the download off the page!
- The web version shows a black screen:
- make sure your browser supports WebAssembly and WebGL
- sometimes the application fails to load for reasons I haven't been able to pin down yet. Refreshing the window sometimes fixes this but if that doesn't work you'll have to download the executable. This seems to happen more frequently on Chrome, so changing browsers might be another temporary solution. if all else fails, try downloading the game instead.

- Q: How many people are working on this?
- currently the bulk of dev work (programming + art) is done by one person, but a second person is in charge of the french translation and acts as editor for the english version. a third is going to be handling more serious QA when that becomes relevant.

- no

- please don't send messages asking if you can join the project, especially if you don't know us. it's stressful and uncomfortable to have to reply to. if/when i want to bring more people into the project, or contract things like assets/music, i will make a post about it!
- seriously if you offer you're guaranteed i will never consider you. i have this as a rule in the discord and people STILL ask there too i'm so tired of it.
- Q: How do I resize the window or use fullscreen on the desktop version?
- A: For now, you don't! Resizing and fullscreen mode haven't been implemented yet, but they are planned for later (around 0.2.0)
- Q: Are you planning on adding an option for/including [thing]?
- A: If it's listed under "upcoming features" on the main page, then yes! I'll be making a more exhaustive list of features once there's a little more of the game made, but if [thing] is very far from anything i've mentioned, it's probably not going to be in the game.
- Q: Are villagers going to be editable?
- A: No. You might be allowed to influence them a little bit (gifting clothes/accessories) but nothing past that. Only your player character is completely customizable.
- Q: What are you using to make this?
- A: Godot Engine (3.2).
- Q: Is there a colorblind option?
- A: not explicitly, but in general the game is designed with the idea that color isn't necessary as a gameplay element, at the very least. anything color-dependent (other than just character creation) always ensures there are other elements (such as patterns) to distinguish between colors. the dev environment does include the three most common colorblind filters, which are used during testing to make sure nothing becomes unreadable/unparseable.
- Q: Are the elves in the creator boys or girls?
- A: In case the main page was too subtle: neither. The elf species featured in the character creation is monosex and does not have a concept of gender. This would make them non-binary by our standards.
